Flying the Phantom - The F-4 in RAF Service

The latest in the South Yorkshire Aircraft Museum's continuing series of aviation and modelling lectures is sure to appeal to all aviation enthusiasts, particularly those with an interest in the fast jets of the Royal Air Force.

Sqn Ldr Dave Hunt flew the McDonnell - Douglas F-4 Phantom in both the Strike/Attack and Air Defence roles and went on to be the Project Pilot for the acquisition and rebuilding of former U.S. Navy F-4N's & J's to Phantom F.3 specification for the RAF's 74 (Tiger) Squadron, during 1983 - 86. He subsequently flew the Tornado F.3.

Join Dave for the evening and learn about the RAF's usage of the Phenomenal Phantom, from a pilot's perspective. Dave will describe all aspects of the Phantom's career in British service and will be able to make comparisons with the performance and capabilities of it's successor, the Tornado.

The date is Saturday 7th June 2008, with a start time of 7.00 p.m. The venue is the South Yorkshire Aircraft Museum, in Doncaster. Tickets are available priced at £7.50 and it is advisable to pre-book as there is a limit of 55 seats for this event.
